Acupuncturists and blood collectors use disposable gloves?

Before talking about acupuncturist, let us talk about the blood collector first. the gloves are more for the Phlebotomists’ protection, but not everyone’s vein were detectable with gloves on in the early time. Some people managed to train themselves able to do it both with and without gloves, because in the end it was more of an instinct developed by experiences. Nonetheless, this may made their job very difficult and caused undue stress for certain patients. However, that causes happened in the old times. Now with the development of technology and science on all aspects, you could find that all the doctores and working stuffs in hospital are with disposable gloves, including blood collectors. They could easily find the vein with gloves on and it protects themselves and patients, in avoid of cross infection effectively.

Acupuncture can be similar. Although someone could say we are required to have heaps of anatomical training in order to provide safe and effective needling. This is more complicated than simply taking blood off elbow, wrist and fingers. Not to mention our fingers are also a scanning tool providing us information for diagnosis, such as temperature, texture, moisture and how does the underlying tissue feel like…etc. The only thing gloves are good for is protecting the Acupuncturists themselves from getting any infectious bio material splattering unto their (maybe broken) skin. It doesn't help them locate and feel for acupoints. However, for professional acupuncturists, it is an easy case for them to do the acupuncture with disposable gloves and it is really a good way to protect especially during this covid-19 time.

No matter for blood collectors nor acupuncturists, disposable gloves are always a good protection. Nowadays, disposable gloves are widely used in all aspects of people life.
